Teas and Travel

Darjeeling tea is often called the “Champagne of Teas” — celebrated for its elegant aroma, floral complexity, and smooth finish. Grown in the misty Himalayan foothills of India, every harvest carries the character of the mountains, climate, and craftsmanship behind it.

But brewing Darjeeling tea correctly is essential to fully experience its beauty.

Unlike stronger black teas, Darjeeling requires a gentler approach. Water that is too hot or steeped too long can overpower its delicate notes and create bitterness.

To brew the perfect cup:

  • Use fresh filtered water
  • Heat water to around 85–90°C
  • Steep for 3–4 minutes
  • Use loose leaf tea whenever possible

As the leaves unfurl, the tea releases soft floral aromas with hints of muscatel grapes, honey, and subtle earthiness.

Tea is more than a beverage — it is a ritual. Take a moment to slow down, observe the color, inhale the aroma, and enjoy the story carried within every sip.
